A 6-year old Facebook Post Returns!

Tonight I was sitting in front of my computer doing some work, when all of a sudden my Facebook feed starts to go crazy. “Ding, Ding, Ding”. Then I started to get text messages on my phone from friends and relatives congratulating me. What was going on?

So I jumped over to Facebook to see what was causing all the commotion. I was getting numerous comments on an old post of mine — congratulating me on my new job. What? I have no new job…or at least i didn’t think I did. What was happening?

Some how a Facebook post of mine from September 14, 2011 started to reappear in everyone’s Facebook feed. Someone must have “liked” or commented on the post and it brought it back to the top of everyone’s feed. The post was about me taking a sales job at WOOD TV back in 2011.

Here is that post FROM 6 YEARS AGO…

Just to set the record straight…I have no “new” job. I’m still selling Real Estate with Berkshire Hathaway; you will still hear me weekends on the radio on 98.7 WFGR; I’m still doing some media and website work through my company Winrock Media; and I’ll still be doing my blog right here. There is no “new” job at WOOD TV, or anywhere else.

Oh, and here’s a tip for everyone… when you see a post…look at the date. I’m always amazed when I see people commenting on news or posts from years ago. I can’t tell you how many times Bob Denver (who played Gilligan on “Gilligan’s Island”) or Don Knotts (who played Barney Fife on the “Andy Griffith Show”) have died on Facebook. These posts just keep reappearing every couple of months.

Thanks though for all the “Congratulations” messages…they are just a little late. Better late than never!!!!

So, there’s no new job and I’m still alive! OK, now back to what you were doing.

My goal is to keep you informed and/or entertained on a regular basis. Maybe you'll learn something new, or just get that much needed laugh. My topics will include a wide range of subjects....from what's going on in the world, to places I've been, things I've seen, or even just a fun video that I've found online. Check back often to see what I've posted.

    Mr. Winters,
I apologize if I’m contacting the wrong person. Are you in NC & have a family member in a nursing home? Please email if so.
