Oscar Mayer Weinermobile is in West Michigan for a few days

I was driving on US-131 this morning and saw the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile! The 27 foot long, 11 foot high hot dog on wheels will be visiting select Meijer stores over the next couple of days.

Oscar Mayer is making big changes to their hot dogs. They removed the added nitrates and nitrites (except those naturally occurring in celery juice), said goodbye to by-products, and got rid of all the artificial preservatives in their meat. They are now out spreading the news. The Weinermobile and the “Hotdoggers” (the drivers of the Weinermobile) have set out on a mission across the country. They’re taking the new ‘dogs with them!

You can stop by and see the Weinermobile at various Meijer stores.

I’ve always been the kind of person who notices the things other people overlook — strange roadside attractions, forgotten pieces of history, interesting places, odd trends, and the little things in everyday life that make you laugh and say, “Wait... when did that become normal?” This blog is where I share those discoveries. Some days you might learn something fascinating from history. Other days I’ll take you along on a road trip, share a weird story from Michigan’s past, or simply rant about something in modern life that makes absolutely no sense. No matter what, my goal is simple: keep things interesting!
