Random Thoughts for Thursday, February 27th, 2020

Happy Thursday! The weekend is oh so close! Here are today’s “Random Thoughts”…

RICK BECKETT

Thanks for all the posts and comments yesterday as we remembered the passing of Rick Beckett 11 years ago.

After I posted “Random Thoughts” yesterday, I remembered a couple of other videos that were produced following Rick’s death.

One was by a fellow co-worker named Scott Fitzgerald. Scott remarked: “I started in radio at WKLQ when Rick was there. I listened to Rick every weekday morning in high school and to me, he was bigger than life. Listening to the flood of support Rick as received and despite his demons, he really did wear the funny red cape and the big red “S” on his chest. While no doubt it was never easy being Rick, he really was Superman.” Here is that video…

The other video was the interview I did with WOOD TV on the day prior to the Tribute Show…

DOGS SINGING ALONG

Of all the dogs I have had in my lifetime, only one of them would sing along with me to the radio.

That dog was my Old English Sheepdog named Barney. He was such a goof! That dog made me literally laugh out loud EVERY day.

We have probably all heard the version of “Jingle Bells” by the barking dogs! If not, here is the link for that.

I found this video of a dog who has one particular country song that she likes to sing along to with her owner. Her owner says: “My dog likes to sing along to several country songs but there is one song that she can’t resist. she sings along every time she hears it. Can you guess what it is? Well I’ll give you a hint. She has good taste in music and she’s a Chris Ledoux dog.” Here is that video…

And while we are watching videos of singing dogs, here’s another…

TAKING YOUR CAR IN FOR SERVICE

I always wonder when I take my car in for service, just what they do with it.

A Florida man had his Jeep in for service. The vehicle spent three weeks at a Clearwater repair shop. He was fine with the time frame — but not so fine with the fact that someone took the thing out long enough to rack up parking tickets and toll charges in not one, but two different counties.

The man says he got wind of the activity after he took the Jeep home and noticed some strange stains on the upholstery — and then found a well-worn pink thong tucked under a passenger-side seat. The shop owner said he didn’t believe any of his employees would borrow the man’s Jeep but then said one of them might have — but claimed the guy had been fired after being hit with a murder charge earlier this year. Where is this guy finding his employees?

I’m hoping the guy was single. I wouldn’t want him to have to explain to his wife or girlfriend where those pink thong underwear came from!

Have a great Thursday! I’ll talk to you this afternoon from 3-7 pm, local and live, on 98.7 WFGR. I also have some passes to go tubing at Cannonsburg Ski Area that I will be giving away during my show.

If you have any comments on the above stories, please leave your remarks below…

My goal is to keep you informed and/or entertained on a regular basis. Maybe you'll learn something new, or just get that much needed laugh. My topics will include a wide range of subjects....from what's going on in the world, to places I've been, things I've seen, or even just a fun video that I've found online. Check back often to see what I've posted.
