This year we will celebrate our fathers on Sunday, June 21st. According to Wikipedia.org, the first Father’s Day celebration was held in this country in 1910.
I’ll be spending some time with my father, Dick Winters. That’s my Dad and Mom (Gloria Winters) in the picture above.

The National Retail Federation has put together a survey to figure out just how people celebrate Father’s Day, and just how much they spend. You might be surprised at the results!
“In line with previous years, 77% of consumers plan to celebrate Father’s Day this year. On average, consumers expect to spend $226.58, up from the previous record of $199.38 in 2025. Despite ongoing economic uncertainty, spending has increased across all categories, with the exception of shoppers ages 65 and older.”
