Where to see Christmas Lights around West Michigan

As a child, I remember loading into the family station wagon and driving around town looking at the cool Christmas light displays in the yards. A lot has changed since then, but one thing that remains… people still love to put up displays and people still like to see them.

Some people go all out (think of the movie “Christmas Vacation”), while others tend to be a little more reserved in their displays. Plus, with computers, now many lights are synchronized to music and that music can be heard by tuning into a low powered radio station that broadcasts just in that neighborhood.

I’ve always wanted to put together a list of the best displays in the West Michigan area, but during the holiday season, I just don’t have the time to drive around West Michigan to plot them all out.

To the rescue comes the website Grand Rapids Kids.  Apparently they have done this list for a couple of years and have recently updated it for 2019.

According to the website: “Our elves have scoured the land along with listening to your proclamations of THE  BEST  places to catch a good Christmas light show. So take a peek at the list, print a copy of our Holiday Light Scavenger Hunt and load up the kids. It’s time to take in the magic of lights and music.”

The list is arranged geographically. You can just check out displays in the downtown Grand Rapids area, head to the different neighborhoods around the city, or head out to the suburbs. There is plenty of time between now and Christmas. Maybe hit up a different area every weekend!

Check out the list for yourself. Maybe I’ll see you driving around the neighborhoods… as I’ll be out there checking them out too!

Thank you so much Grand Rapids Kids website for doing all the work and compiling this list! We THANK YOU!

My goal is to keep you informed and/or entertained on a regular basis. Maybe you'll learn something new, or just get that much needed laugh. My topics will include a wide range of subjects....from what's going on in the world, to places I've been, things I've seen, or even just a fun video that I've found online. Do you have the neighborhoods that have the most decorations? I do not want to pay to drive through parking lots that are set up
