I’ve always been the kind of person who notices the things other people overlook — strange roadside attractions, forgotten pieces of history, interesting places, odd trends, and the little things in everyday life that make you laugh and say, “Wait... when did that become normal?” This blog is where I share those discoveries. Some days you might learn something fascinating from history. Other days I’ll take you along on a road trip, share a weird story from Michigan’s past, or simply rant about something in modern life that makes absolutely no sense. 1997 Christmas Show

The year was 1997. Why is it so hard to believe that was 28 years ago! Definitely doesn’t seem that long. This was the first year I started doing a Christmas Music show both Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. The very first show was all pre-recorded and ran off of a CD. What Truly Impressed Me About Old-School TV Meteorologists

Back in the day, we trusted our local TV meteorologists with our lives. Would school be canceled tomorrow? Could we wear shorts? Should we cancel the picnic or double down with a tarp and a prayer? They held the answers, or at least we hoped they did.

But as much as we wanted accurate forecasts, there was something else — something truly impressive — that no one ever talks about.
